The New Fantastic SaltTimeJourney  - Visiting the most innovative adventure centre for salt mining in the world, you can become part of an entirely new and modern experience below the earth’s surface. Nonetheless, the way the adventure mine is presented is still closely linked with revered mining tradition. Visitor train, salt cathedral, salt laboratory, treasure vault and mirror lake are at the core of a multimedia installation covering an underground floor area of approximately 6 000 square metres.

The train takes visitors into the depths of the mountain where the mine is presented in a mystical way by means of light, colour and salt - an impressive "salt cathedral" appears before the visitors’ eyes. In the treasure vault and in the salt laboratory questions about all facets of the topic of salt are answered in a playful way. The mirror lake, 150 meters below the surface, welcomes visitors into a meditative environment. In a fascinating composition of light and sound the ferry crosses the water and takes visitors to the opposite shore under an artificial sky of growing salt crystals mirrored in the surface of the lake.

Upon exiting the underground realm, culinary delicacies await visitors at the restaurant “Gasthof Reichenbach”. Visitors can also stand at the rooftop terrace where they will find the starting point of a circular footpath.
