The Kehlsteinstrasse from Obersalzberg leading to the Eagle's Nest upper bus parking area is a unique feat of engineering seen nowhere else in the world. The great difference in elevation is reached with only one hairpin bend, thereby traversing the steep northwest face of the Kehlstein Mountain twice.

In 1952 the road was closed to the public and the special mountain buses were put into operation for the transportation of guests to this unique destination. Weather permitting, the views from the road, as well as from the mountain's summit, are breathtaking. More ...

A drive up the Rossfeld Panoramic Road takes you to an elevation of some 1600 m (5600 ft) where the alpine setting of the Berchtesgadener Land couldn't be more spectacular. A large parking area located along the crest commands undisturbed views of the most spectacular mountains of the Berchtesgaden and Salzburg area. The toll road is open year-round.
