Rail Museum in Freilassing

Rail Museum

Rail Museum

Freilassing was once an important railway axis boasting over 1000 employees. Today, thanks to the participation of the town administration and the Deutsches Museum in Munich, the Freilassing Railway Museum has managed to save interesting locomotives and carriages, as well as numerous historical objects pertaining to German railway technology.

Steam-powered cogwheel locomotives - as well as other train engines running on electricity or diesel - have been lovingly restored and put on display for the appreciation of train lovers and laypeople alike. Among the core attractions of the exhibition is a 100-yr-old circular engine shed featuring a functioning turn-table. There is always plenty for children and adults to discover and enjoy at the Freilassing Railway Museum.
