The local cemetery is rich in the principality's fascinating history where local guides can connect gravesites or memorial plaques with numerous interesting local or internationally renowned residents of Berchtesgaden.

Among these is Anton Adner, a local woodcarver who spent his time walking the roads of Europe to sell his wares and who lived till the astonishing age of 117 years. The Hirschenhaus, built in 1594, is decorated by the so-called "monkey façade", the oldest non-religious house frescos in the Bavarian Alps.

The cure-takers' park is an inviting spot to relax and take in the view of the surrounding mountain scenery.
